Goosebumps Most Wanted: Frankenstein’s Dog
Written by R.L. Stine
This is the second Halloween book Kael recommends as we support his fundraiser for premature babies.
In his spread of scary books, this cover certainly stood out. Goosebumps has been in kids’ hands since 1992. Short chapters, eerie scenarios and the first-person perspective of a childhood protagonist give the series much popularity with youth.
Why would you recommend this book to a friend?
I love Goosebumps books. I’m on chapter 15 out of 34 [135 pages]. I’ve read about 20 Goosebumps. Two for each year!
You’ve read these since you were a baby?!
No! I’m just… catching up!
What is your favourite part of Frankenstein’s Dog and other Goosebumps books?
It gives a cliffhanger at the end of each chapter. Like, ‘Frankenstein broke through the door and ran away.’ Or, ‘The dog got a whole whack of chemicals spilled on him.’ I think that’s how [the cover picture] happened.
This book isn’t for kindergarten?
No! Maybe older kids, like me.
