Seven people with ties to New Brunswick tell about their favourite Christmas or “winter season” stories this month. I’ll highlight a title every other day from now until December 25.

Here’s Terry Seguin, host of CBC’s Information Morning Fredericton.

What’s your favourite Christmas or “winter season” story, Terry Seguin?

That is an easy choice: Frederick Forsyth‘s The‎ Shepherd.

For many years CBC announcer Alan Maitland read this story on the program As It Happens. It is a ghost story, really, but one which addresses the mystery and magic of Christmas. It is a masterful and thoughtful work. I enjoyed it so much, my wife surprised me one Christmas morning with a collection of favourite Christmas stories compiled by Mr. Maitland. It’s something I treasure.
